Hello Everyone - To continue the spirit of giving, we have organized the 4th Annual DOJ Virtual Food Drive and challenged our colleagues in PSDI, TLS, B&R, and RDGO/CLIA . As in previous years, the lowest fundraising section will be singing, or nominating someone to sing, to the highest fundraising section. Last year as a region we were able to raise over $10,000.00 for this worthy cause. Our goal for this year is to surpass last year.
The recent Hunger Count report from Food Banks Canada says there were almost 196,000 visits to BC food banks in March 2023 62,000 of those visits were from children. In BC, food bank visits increased by 20% since 2022 and by 57% since 2019. In Greater Vancouver, the GVFB has been registering up to 1,000 new clients per month.
