We hope this performance of "Snow Song" will help you find the spirit of the Season!

Hi Everyone,

For a number of years the Vancouver Cansing Choirs held a benefit concert for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank on the first Tuesday of December. In 2020 we weren't allowed to gather at all, but the friends of Cansing Choir were able to enjoy a virtual concert and generously contributed a total of $5000 to help families in our community challenged by food insecurity. In 2021 we celebrated the generous spirit of our community at our first in-person concert in the COVID19 era, again raising $5000. We are hoping, planning and rehearsing for a Winter Concert inspired by the work of the Vancouver Foodbank at 7 pm, Tuesday, December 6th, at Cityview Church, 4370 Sophia Street. We are again asking that donations be made online. We will not be collecting at the concert.

We're sure you will agree that the Food Bank needs our help more than ever--demand is up (particularly with the steep spike in the cost of food) and fundraising events challenging.

We are asking you to support the Choir's commitment to the essential work of the Food Bank by making a contribution and promoting the cause to family and friends. Please share the URL for this page, https://vfd.foodbank.bc.ca/fundraiser/vancansing, with people you know who love music and helping people in our community access the nutritious food they need (or use the Facebook, Twitter and Email options via the SHARE button above). Gerda has warm memories of her own childhood in Prince George when her father suffered a prolonged illness and the food hamper from a local charity made Christmas possible for her family.

Thank you in advance for joining the Cansing Virtual Food Drive! And best wishes for the holiday season. We recommend filling it with choral music! Stay safe.

Gerda and Kevin.

PS You'll find more information about the choir here: http://cansing.ca/ . Let us know if you're interested in joining.
