Dear Americans in British Columbia,

The Democrats Abroad Vancouver chapter will not be hosting a formal Thanksgiving event this year we could not find a restaurant that felt they had the staff to host a large event due to staffing shortages. We hope that many of you will be able to spend the upcoming holidays with family and friends now that most pandemic restrictions have been lifted.

This year, we are again hosting a virtual holiday food drive to help people living in Vancouver, the North Shore, and Burnaby. We've partnered with Greater Vancouver Food Bank; helping to provide healthy food to those in need. With the cost of food, rent, gas, and other essentials at record highs, many people in our neighbourhoods are struggling.

In 2021, we raised over $1,300, and we have a goal to exceed that in 2022. For every $1 donated, the Greater Vancouver Food Bank can double or triple the value when purchasing fresh food for their recipients. You will receive a tax receipt with every online donation.
